I Have Some Red Spots On My Lower Legs. They

I have some red spots on my lower legs. they turn red and if they don't itch they just stay until they are white dry skin that flakes off. my friend just told me she has shingles on the back of her thigh and they sound similar in the way it started. what do you think?
