I Have Some Sores Down On And Around My Vagina.

I have some sores down on and around my vagina. They look like canker sores I usually get in my mouth (whitish color). They hurt very very bad just walking around, and even worse when urinating and wiping. There are about 4 big sores. I am getting over a virus right now and last time I had these sores I also remember I had recently been sick. Are the two related do you think? I havent been tested for herpes but my husband is and has been my only partner and same for him to me. Should I wash the area with salt water or something to help the sores subside? They are so painful.
