I Have Stitches On My Upper Lip Going From The

I have stitches on my upper lip going from the inner part of my lip to the bottom of my nose, I heal quickly so they are Already drying out but when I smile or laugh I feel them pull and it hurts! Can I put Vaseline or neosporin on the stitches here and there?
