I Have Suffered From Migraines For Years. I Am Female,

I have suffered from migraines for years. I am female, age 51. I currently see an ENT and he described my condition as a pinched optical nerve in which he gives me injections in the area close to where the eye meets the nose. They do help. I also can take imitrex to relieve the pain. He mentioned a procedure that an anesthetist can perform to deaden the nerve. What is it that I actually have going on and what is this procedure?
