I Have Swelling And Pain Between The First And Second

I have swelling and pain between the first and second joint closes to the palm on my right middle finger. Sometimes have extreme pain when attempting to straighten that finger. No cuts or other injuries to the arm or hand. Pain reduces when immobilizing the middle joint with tape

Can find any good info on line on re: diagnosis or treatment. Your thoughts?
