I Have Thalassemia Minor. I Have Been Having Really Bad

I have thalassemia minor. I have been having really bad rib pain located just under my left breast. I went to the hospital and got an ECG done and blood work and shows I do not have heart related problems, which is great news, but the pain is still present since last Wednesday (on and off I should mention) is Advil okay to take even though I have Thalassemia minor? I have been getting mixed reviews and it's making it very difficult for me to believe which one I should believe.
