I Have This Cut On My Chin And I Always

I have this cut on my chin and I always put a bandaid on it so people don't ask because it's very big. Every night I take off the bandaid to clean the wound and change the bandaid. Before I start to clean it, I smell this vinegar odor and there is liquid on the bandaid. What is the liquid on the bandaid and why does my wound smell of vinegar?
