I have ulcerative colitis and for about a year have issues with constant diarrahea at times with blood
I don't travel far like the commercials say. I am under docters care and take colazal (bazalazide) 9 pills daily but they dont seem to slow down the problem. I also use immodium and culteral
today visiting with my doctor he is suggesting I take mercaptopurine. I asked for side effects and what possible issues this medication would pose but basically got told to have blood work done to see if I can tolerate it. I want more information before taking a drug I am unfamiliar with. I have immune issues and a family history of cancer and don't want to take a drug that will increase that risk.
