I Have What Appears To Be A Broken Blood Vessel

I have what appears to be a broken blood vessel toward the outside and back of my knee. Just came in from outside, but don't recall hitting it. It felt like something had stung me, but when I looked and felt, there is a small knot and it appears somewhat bruised. Thinking of putting ice on it. Would that be advisable?
