I Have What Looked Like A Bruise On The Inside

I have what looked like a bruise on the inside of my mouth. It's on the right where the mouth creases on part of the top lip and part of the bottom. It doesn't hurt..just feels kind of raw when I rub my tounge across it. Do you know what this could be? It's dark purple or grayish color.
