I Haven't Eaten For About 12 Hours Except For A

I haven't eaten for about 12 hours except for a snack that I spaced out throughout the day and I made a bag of popcorn. About half way through it I get a feeling like I have to throw up and it's mostly just stomach acid I think, was it from the acid not mixing well with the butter on an empty stomach?
