I Hit The Back Of My Head On Kitchen Tile

I hit the back of my head on kitchen tile 10 weeks ago when I tripped and fell backward, which resulted in a brain bleed and subdural hematoma. After 3 days in the neuro trauma unit of the hospital, I was released and have recovered well. The huge lump on the back of my scalp is now about the size of a bean, but is still hard and covered with what appears to be crusty blood. Any idea how much longer it will remain. My primary doctor told me to just leave it alone during my follow-up visit, but I am wondering if there is something that can be done to remove this from my scalp, or how long it will be before it is gone. Thanks for any advise.
