I Hope So, My Daughter Has A 4mo. Old Baby

I hope so, my daughter has a 4mo. old baby that suffers from colic & has only gained 5lbs since birth. I've. She weighed 5# at birth & now only weighs 9#...she crys constantly. she has tried several things the pediatrician suggested but to no aweail. She lives in Cedar Rapids Ia. and took the baby to see a Gastrointerologist who did lab work and implied she may have Alpha 1. Can you gtell me what that is?
