I Injured My Big Toe Today. The Forward Joint In

I injured my big toe today. The forward joint in the toe is the area of greatest pain. My issue is complicated by the fact that a tendon which controls the toes ability to bend, was removed to repair an injury on the other side of my ankle as those tendons, repaired once, where no longer there. I was coaching at wrestling practice, pushed off, and intense sharp pain on the top of the toe, but the forward joint resulted. The toe has swollen some, and the pain is strong when the ice wears off. Any thoughts?
