I Injured My Ear Canal With A Qtip And Blood

I injured my ear canal with a qtip and blood came out about 2 months ago. I went to the doctor and he said my eardrum was fine but I had injured my ear canal. I put some drops for a week, and then forgot about it. Today, while I was cleaning my ear, I felt pain. I went to the doctors and he told me I still had a scab there, and to continue with one week of treatment. Why is it taking so long to heal?
