I Just Ate Macaroni And Cheese From A Microwave Safe

I just ate macaroni and cheese from a microwave safe container (according to the people who sold it to me; grocery store). I warmed it up for about 6 minutes in an oven and when I took it out, the plastic started melting on the sides. I threw away the parts that touched the edges and ate the rest. Should I have eaten it, or was I better off throwing everything away. The bottom did the begin to melt yet (only the edges).
