I Just Developed Shingles. I Am Taking Medication For 5

I just developed shingles. I am taking medication for 5 days.. I never had chicken pox and I'm not sure if I ever received the vaccine. I read that the shingles rash will go away in 3-5 weeks, but do I need to continue with the medication after the 5 day period. Thank you.
