I Just Discovered My Partner Is Taking Truvada And I

I just discovered my partner is taking Truvada and I had no knowledge of it. I understand the whole prep treatment that's currently has everyone thinking there now at no risk. My question is with it there is also a script for tivicay as well which I only can see it for the treatment of HIV but no benefit before. Am I right in thinking there isn't a reason he should be taking that along side of the other as a preventive measure? Any help would be great.
