I Just Found Out That I Am Diabetic My Dr.

I just found out that I am diabetic my Dr. Put on metformin 500 mg twice daily I took already but My thighs are swollen and itching all the way up to my grown what should I do I believe that I am allergic to the metformin or my other medications are interview with it can you help????
