I just found this website. Still getting familiar with it, but I do have a question.
I have been experiencing strange pain that starts in my joints for 10+ yrs now. The couple of docs I've had over the years always just stare at me strangely when I try to describe it. Nothing has been done, and no tests have been ran.
The pain starts in a joint, hip, knee, ankle, wrist, or elbow. It will radiate out to where my whole arm or leg could be in pain if it gets bad. The affected limb usually feels cold, and the pain is a deep radiating pain that almost feels like I have dunked the joint in ice water. It can last for hrs, but usually not more then a day. I have an urge for heat for relief, but it doesn't always seem to help. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why it starts. If I have cold air on it, like an air conditioning vent, it almost always seems to start it. Sometimes, if I pop my wrist or hip, that may cause it to start, but I don't pop the other joints. Sometimes it seems like I may sleep wrong on my elbow, and that could be a cause. There is no otc pain relief i have found that helps. I just have to let it run its course. I've started wondering if it's nerve pain, but I don't have a reason in my past that I am aware to have nerve problems.
Is there a test I can have to test nerve pain? Is there a condition I could have checked out? Is there a specialist I should consider seeing?
