I Just Had A Lump Removed From My Breast The

I just had a lump removed from my breast the size of a 'sweetlet' pea. Why does this require radiation treatments of 4-6 weeks 5 days a week. Yes I know about 30% chance of it not coming back and other factors. But I'm leaning towards NO RADIATION.
