I Just Had A Microdiscectomy On Halloween Of This Year.

I just had a microdiscectomy on Halloween of this year. Since having the procedure my pain has gotten worse. My foot is now swollen so much that I can hardly walk or move my toes and it is now starting to turn in. I can hardly get my shoe on. If I am up and moving for more than an hour I am done for the day. I have tried elevating it, using ice, and taking ibuprofen. None of it helps. I also have constant pain from my hip all the way down to my toes and my knee is also swollen. The doctor who did the procedure said that my sciatic nerve was almost dead due to lack of blood flow. He has also told me that all of these problems are normal after having this procedure. On top of all of this pain I have scoliosis, Sherman's disease, degenerative disc and joint disease, along with arthritis from my neck down through my lower back. What can I do to relieve the pain and swelling due to this procedure?
