I Just Had A Root Canal 2 Days Ago Due

I just had a root canal 2 days ago due to a big infection(abscess) and my whole left side of my face swelled up , felt terrible. Im on penicillin to fight the infection( also have a temporary filling) and hydrocodone to ease pain. They drained the abscess but my cheek is still ablittle inflamed and the abscess is drained but i can still see a flat red spot where it was. Also got a kanker today. Was wondering if it is bad to smoke (anything) in the aspect that it would get even more infected or not?
