I Just Had A Tonsillectomy This Morning. I Have Nasal

I just had a tonsillectomy this morning. I have nasal drip as well. Im having a lot of mucus buildup in my throat and I can't drink or take my medication because there is so much of it. I know I shouldn't try and clear my throat and when I do try it hurts really badly... How do I help get rid of the mucus???
