I just had a transvaginal ultrasound done for irregular periods, spotting between periods, and one time spotting after sex, fullness and pressure in pelvic area, constant crampy pain in pelvic area. These issues have been going on for years and recently got worse. My ultrasound results are scaring me. Could you please help me understand if this is cancerous? When I got the ultrasound I had not had a period in 45 days and got my period 4 days after ultrasound. I am 32 years old with 2 children.
The uterus is retroverted, heterogenous, bullbous, and normal in size. 2 fibroids are seen and measured, 1. Anterior mid impeding on endo measuring 190 2014 mm and 2. Posterior left 16x14x11mm. The endo appears thickened measuring 12mm and contains a hyperechoic area seen superiorly 8x7x5mm. The left ovary appears within normal limits. The right ovary contains a complex cyst measuring 17 18 17mm. No adexbal masses seen. Small trace of free fluid seen in pelvis.
Doctor said to follow up in a month with another ultrasound. I'm too anxious and not sure I can wait that long. The hyperechoic area and complex cyst are what are worrying me most. Thank you.
