I Just Had An MRI Which Showed A 1.8 Cm

I just had an MRI which showed a 1.8 cm by .5 cm cyst along the lateral cortex of the lower pole of the right kidney. I've had upper right quadrant pain that wraps from front to back, mostly under my lower right ribs, since December 2013. The MRI showed everything else - liver, pancreas, spleen - is normal. Could this cyst be the source of the pain? Is this a big or small cyst? What is the treatment for it?
