I Just Had Heart Surgery To Replace My ICD For

I just had heart surgery to replace my ICD for VT. They also extracted three broken wires from previous ICD implants. I developed a blood clot near my neck and was put on blood thinners for six months. I was also told to stop taking my birth control pills since they can cause blood clots too. Now I'm having almost constant hot flashes. Is this due to not taking my birth control pills or could it be something else going on. What if anything can I do? The hot flashes are really bad.
