I Just Had My Blood Work Done And My TSH

I just had my blood work done and my TSH level is 46.18. I understand that a Normal level is 0.30-4.00 uIU/mL, but how bad is a Level of 46.18. I know this mean my thyroid is not functioning, but the i am concerned with, Also does this mean my thyroid may not work correctly again? Or could this be cause by some other reason that may go away after awhile or with a change is lifestyle?
