I Just Had My First Colonoscopy Monday. It's Now Friday

I just had my first colonoscopy Monday. It's now Friday and I'm experiencing trouble digesting, slight waves of nausea, or at least stomach pains. Pharmacist said I could take a probiotic to help get back to normal sooner. I had some in the fridge, but noticed the expiration date had past. Would taking it therefore be fruitless?
