I Just Had Surgery On A Disk In My Back.

I just had surgery on a disk in my back. I am experiencing a great amount of itching, but I also have glaucoma. Is it OK to take Benadryl? I read somewhere that you should not. If this is the case, what can I take for the itching? It is extremely uncomfortable, and all over my body.
