I Just Left Blood Source. Usually Do Platelet Donations, Today
I just left blood source. usually do platelet donations, today my iron count was high enough they suggested red cell donation. They set up and drew the first three vials for the typical testing. The machines kept sounding alarms. They kept adjusting needles and then decided to change arms. While in that process they pumped the blood from the tubing into a cup and found it coagulating too soon. The then tried to shake the vials but the blood had thickened already. The donation was stopped and I was told I cannot come back for 8 weeks. Should I be concerned with the blood coagulating so soon?
