I Just Left From Getting My Hearing Aids Adjusted And

I just left from getting my hearing aids adjusted and the doctor told me that my right ear drum was black in color with some white spots and described it to look like snake skin and told me that I should see a ENT ASAP . I can't get in before next week. My hearing has dulled in the right ear in the last month, but no obvious signs of an ear infection or pain. What could it possibly be???
