I Just Placed A Cotton Bud Into My Left Ear

I just placed a cotton bud into my left ear a few minutes and the end was a light red as opposed to the usual dark yellow that it usually is. That ear has been blocked for about 2 to 3 months and I'm concerned that the red is blood. I tried the same on my right ear and the cotton bud came out nearly clear. Should I be concerned about this?
