I Just Saw A Dark Patch On The Labia. It

I just saw a dark patch on the labia. It is not looking like any melanoma patches. It isn't raised, has no scales , or irregular borders with a variety of colors like I have seen in pictures. However, I found it because I am recently having burning and itching in the vagina and had a culture taken (waiting for results). I am at menopause and am afraid of cancer since I have read the internet and am terrified. It isn't painful or bleeding. Could this just be pigmentation?
