I Just Started Wearing Contacts Today, And The Left Had

I just started wearing contacts today, and the left had been feeling irritating. Later on in rubbed my eyes and my contact moved and bent a little and my turn red and hurt a little so I took out the contacts. It felt irritated for a couple hours and felt dry, it's a little red and feels like somthings in it when I look around or close my eyes, did I damage my eye?
