I Just Took My 13 Year Old Son's Temperature At

I just took my 13 year old son's temperature at 100.8..his throat hurts, feeling a little on the weak side ,and feeling achy and has a dry cough going..i just checked the inside of his mouth the back of his throat seems a little swollen and reddish..it seems to me he's showing signs of strep..do u think i should take him to the hospital now or wait to see if fever goes up a little more?
