I Just Witnessed My Granddaughters Father Spinning Her Fast Around

I just witnessed My granddaughters father spinning her fast around in a circle to get her to fall asleep. After spinning her she fell asleep within three minutes.I am shocked and upset. Why is she falling asleep, and what is this doing to get brain? My daughter said he had used this method to get her to sleep many times
