I Lost My Mucous Plug Earlier This Week At 37

I lost my mucous plug earlier this week at 37 weeks and now two days after my last exam to see how much I've dilated I am having brown colored flakes it looks like when I use the bathroom or in the shower. Is this normal. I'm also on iron tablets if that may cause any problems
