I lost my voice 6 months ago. It sounds like larengitis, but my doctor says it's not, nor strep throat. There is generally no pain, no difficulty swallowing. When it does hurt, I feel it at the back of my throat, at the top, right behind the uvula, and goes up into my left ear. I am able to speak, sort of, but it's squeaky. I can whisper. I was referred to an ENT Specialist. I was told my vocal chords appear to be normal, and no swelling. He did find I have a deviated septum. He sent for me for a CT scan. All showed normal. He has now referred me to another ENT specialist at Vancouver General, but my appt is not until April 13. What could this be?
