I M On Birth Control, But I Do Forget To

I m on birth control, but I do forget to take it sometimes. I had unprotected sex in January using the pull out method. I have had my period since then, but when I started my period today I found something abnormal in my blood that was not a clot. I don t know if it was tissue or what it was but the more I search the more freaked out I get. I had cramps every morning 2 weeks ago, and Sunday morning I puked (I thought it was from being hungover) Is it possible I had a miscarriage?
The thing in my period looked like a chunk of skin, it was thick & a little under the size of a quarter. It also had a light pinky/skin sorta color.
