I Made A Sort Of Deep Cut On My Finger

I made a sort of deep cut on my finger about 3 weeks ago. The edges of the wound weren't touching so I had to get steri strips on it to close it. The nurse told me to check how my wound was after 5 days and if the edges were joined, I could start to remove the steri strips. After 5 days the edges were sealed and I removed the steri strips. 3 weeks later and my finger has a soft bump on it below/around the scar. Is this normal? And will the bump fade away and go back to normal?
