I Need Advice On What To Do Next, I Had

I need advice on what to do next, I had my last period on Nov 12-15 and then I had a bladder infection on 12/15/15 and was given Nitrofuranton. I then saw the OBGYN on 12/21/15 still no period and then he gave me Progesterone for 10 days. I went it on 1/4/16 because I still have not got my period and then he wants to put me on a Birth Control called Sprintec for a month. Me and partner are trying to conceive. I am not sure whats wrong with my body or what to do next. Should I take the Birth Control because I have never tried any in my life. Please help.
