Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I need to know about a drug known as "durrotid" and whether this drug is used in hospice situations. My mother died on December 28, 2015. She was placed on this drug. There was another one known as arecept, but that is a name for doneprizil used in Alzheimer's cases. I am trying to understand why she was placed in hospice without a reviewing physician and why she was sent to hospice: No cancer. No stroke. Vitals were excellent: bp 90 / 64; temp 97; oxy absorption 97% even with pneumonia; no stroke no heart attack; fully conscious and talking between administrations of durrotid. Family members wanted to cut her off from long term health care costs, even though all of these monies were set aside for her. Her vitals. Her mind. Her ejection factor at 65%; atrial fibrillation at 1.2%. No attending physician authorized her transfer to hospice.
