I Noticed A Lump In My Stomach Near My Belly

I noticed a lump in my stomach near my belly button. Shortly after noticing it, I started getting extreme pain everytime I need to poop. I told my doctor and he said it could be a hernia. I have been able to push the lump I feel back in. But now I get extreme pain right after eat sometimes a few hours after I eat. I have been burping, getting hiccups, having painful gas, cramping bad, and feeling the pain go into my back. My mom a former surgeon wants me to go to the ER, but I have been hesitating. Does it sound like I have a hernia that needs emergency care?
