Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I play men's league hockey and was hit by a wrist shot on the outside of my right ankle. The shot was NOT by any means extremely hard or anything. It was right in between the shin pad and skate, the little gap between there I was hit. There's no discoloration or swelling, and I can walk on it just fine, but it's very very tender to the touch. I went in my basement and tried on my skate today and every time the outside wall hits that area it hurts really bad. I have games every Friday and Saturdays and a big tournament upcoming on February 10th. I believe it's a bone bruise and I haven't had any prior injury to my ankle before. How should I go about the healing process and making it hurt less while inside the boot of my skate? I don't want to stop playing just because of a little annoying bone bruise. Thank you. - Roy
