I Punctured The Area Of My Palm Below My Left

I punctured the area of my palm below my left index finger with a small kitchen knife. It didn't bleed much and I cleaned it out with peroxide. The next day, the index finger was swollen and hurt, and this has continued for a week. I can use the index finger and the pain goes away, but at times, it is swollen and really hurts. The area where I punctured is healed and does not hurt.
