I Realize That This Question Will Seem Ridiculous So I

I realize that this question will seem ridiculous so I ask you to please consider that it has taken me a lot to have the courage to ask! I had some type of GI illness which began Sunday. I vomited several times--about midnight Sunday night, about 2 am , and then again at about 11am. I had a fever of 100-100.5, and a great deal of body pain. The vomiting actually relieved nausea. I started to "get over" my symptoms Monday night: began sipping Gatorade and eating saltines. No diarrhea has materialized, but even all this time later, I am plagued with heartburn, bloated feeling, and just woke up with nausea again, when I felt it was all gone for two days. Body aches are passed. Fever is resolved. Here is the big problem. I take a beta blocker, and so as soon as I was holding things down, I took my regular 1x per day dose , and have continued to take it. I am usually complaining that this med leaves me with a pulse of 48-52 with a BP that is usually 125/70. Despite taking this, my BP is high--150/95, pulse 65.... it seems to not be working..I respond to this med quickly and did even when I first started using it. I tried an Ativan which was prescribed for anxiety and likewise felt no relief from that . I am concerned that the meds seem to be not working at all, despite the fact that I am using the beta blocker as directed. Right before this illness, the medicine was working as it normally does. I am concerned and wondering why the med is not being digested and working normally. It's as if the med is not even making it into my system..Do I need an X-ray to see if part of my GI system was damaged by vomiting?
