I Received My Cholesterol Levels Last Week And My Doctor

I received my cholesterol levels last week and my doctor told me that is was high. My HDL Ratio is 2.8, my LDL is 3.54 and my HDL is 2.17. It scares me cause my mom pass of a heart attack and my da had triple bi pass and had a heart attack. What kind of diet should I follow cause I don't want to take pills
