I Received My Dentures Yesterday And Was Instructed To Leave

I received my dentures yesterday and was instructed to leave in for 24 hours. which I did and placed dentures in a container of cold water. It has been 5 hours and now as I am reinserting them they feel loose and Ill fitting.
am I missing something to get a proper fit
