I Received Stitches On My Left Index Finger 8 Days

I received stitches on my left index finger 8 days ago. For the last two days they have been bothering me and where the stitches go into the skin I have been able to squeeze a little infection out. I have applied alcohol and peroxide to it since yesterday to help. Do I need to be seen by a doctor or can i wait till the 14 day mark when the stitches are to be removed.
